At age 26 what would you expect to have accomplished? Most of the people I grew up with never even thought about that... we'll talk more about that later.
I grew up on the Rez (the Colville Indian Reservation) to be specific. I'm not Native (American Indian), I'm as white as you get, freckles and all. My Great Grandpa won land in a poker bet and moved his family over from Seattle, WA when my Grandma was three years old. So, my Dad was raised there, along with his siblings, and multiple other family members that eventually moved there as well. My Mom, well, she grew up near Spokane, WA. She became a teacher and moved to the Reservation, where she met my Dad (who was a high school senior). I've heard all the gossip about how they 'got it on' in the school parking lot, etc. etc..... they deny all that though. Well, I have lots of stories about the Rez, and how I grew up, and I'm sure I will post a lot of them, but for now lets stick to the basics.
My Dad became a teacher too, I was raised on the Reservation with my two sisters. I graduated as Valedictorian in 1999, went to EWU in Cheney WA, transferred to the Nursing College through Washington State University, and got my Bachelor's degree. I have been a nurse for four years, and am back in school to get my Masters as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
I'm tired of keeping all my opinions to myself and need a way to vent, and be creative. I have two children, ages three and five. They are my happiness, but they are a lot of work, and drive me crazy at times. I grew up with two sisters, so having to boys is a definite change.... According to my Mom, I never beat up my sister, took her toy, flushed it down the toilet, watched it overflow, then blamed it on her as the water seeped out the doorway.... boys. And they are the same when they grow up huh? So, anyway, I am married, working, going to school, and have my two monsters, and am STRESSED OUT! Who wouldn't be right? So, I'm taking whoever's willing along for the ride that is Tiffany Skye's life.
